Born in Vienna, Austria in 1898, Elizabeth "Lilly" Auböck-Streit was the eldest sibling of Carl Auböck II and Valerie Auböck. Lilly studied at the Higher Institution for Graphic Education and Research and in 1922 she became a member of the graphic design studio "Esbeta". The name of the studio was made up from the first letters of the names of the studio members which included Fred Taubes, Adolph Streit, Lilly Auböck, renowned graphic designer, Joseph Binder, and others. Lilly was an accomplished fashion designer, graphic artist, and painter.
